Rinse-Less Wash…What is it?
So we have all heard of a foam cannon spraying a layer of foam all over the car, and we know the “standard” car washing method also. If you haven’t, read my blog about car washing. In this blog we will be learning about what types of rinse-less wash soaps there are, the benefits of using rinse-less over standard technique, and what is better to use.
So there are 3 main types of rinse-less wash soaps. Surfactant based, Polymer based, and a mix of both. The surfactant based ones are straight up cleaners. Generally not as slick as the polymer based but clean very well. for the polymer based, this is what I personally use and it does a fantastic job cleaning, maintaining slickness, and maintaining any wax or ceramic protection that is currently on the paint. And for the mix of both… well I guess it speaks for itself.
Some of the best benefits that I have personally observed compared to the standard process is TIME. For mobile detailing, time is of the essence with the sunlight and the heat making the process more difficult as the day goes by. I also save about half as much water over the entire exterior process. Other benefits include being able to use it as a detail spray, light interior cleaner, Clay Bar lubricant, and glass cleaner just to name a few.
As I think about rinse-less more and more it becomes something that you will just have to try for yourself. I believe with the polymer technology in the rinse-less washes, there might be no going back to the standard wash method. The rinse-less wash that Velocity Detailing uses is P&S Absolute. It is by far, the latest and greatest wash there is. I use it for all the things I listed above because it is more economical because it replaces about 5 different chemicals in my current arsenal.
If you are interested in trying out a good rinse-less wash without waiting days for it to come in, take a drive down the block to any auto parts store and grab Griots Rinseless wash and wax. You get the befits of rinse-less with a week or so of protection with the wax!
