There Is a New Detail Supply Store On The Northshore!

Alright… It’s been a long time coming for a detail supply store to be opened on the Northshore. For quite a long time there have been many detailers on the Northshore looking for a local store to buy chemicals and equipment quick rather than waiting for it all to come in the mail. It is Located in Slidell, LA off of Gauze Blvd. The name is called Detail World and they sell products from Jescar, Rupes, IK Sprayers, Flex Polishers, and their main product named Stinger Chemical.

Stinger Chemical is based out of Houston, TX and is actually a blender for many different brands we have probably heard of before. The Stinger Chemical products are pretty good so far from what I have tested. Stinger Chemical is also VERY CHEAP for the amount of product you are getting because the chemicals come directly from the Blender rather than from a second hand detailing company! Everything comes in a GALLON and larger, which makes it very economical as well. I will dive into the chemicals later but they also have a small section in the shop to test out different polishes, chemicals, and polishers. There are test hoods that are supplied and a wide arrangement of different things to try! They also are a distributor for Quantum Ceramic Products as well as host classes every so often for polishing and ceramics. Personally, I already know how to correct paint and apply ceramics. As well as I have a ceramic brand I really enjoy using and I will make another blog about that in the future. But…. if you are completely new to the paint correction and ceramic world it might not be a bad class to attend. Just be aware that most ceramic coating classes taught in person are very, very biased toward their ceramic brand and will try to talk you into buying their coating and saying their coatings are the best in the world and all that jargon. THE BEST TRAINING IS YOUR OWN HANDS ON TRAINING!

Now for the actual chemicals and how well they work. I will just go over the basic, most used type of chemicals in the detailing industry. First is the Wheel and Tire cleaner named Magnum, it is probably the best non-acidic cleaner I have ever used! It can be diluted down to 5:1, which is really strong still, essentially just eating the brake dust like acid. When it is sprayed in the tires, it starts turning brown immediately. Next is the Iron Remover, for a gallon it’s like $25 which is the best price I have ever found for a gallon of Iron Remover. I mean Car Pro Iron-X is $25 for a 1 Liter bottle so you can’t beat the price. It works just as good as any iron remover from the color change to how well it sticks. Third would be Showroom Shine, basically the typical detail spray for clay bar, fingerprint remover, and touch up wiping and finishing on the paint. It has a wonderful tropical scent and works well. It costs somewhere around $16 for the gallon so really cheap per car, were talking cents per vehicle.

The second time I went, they had just received a shipment of their Ceramic Spray Sealant and I tried it out on the test panels I mentioned earlier. It has a very shiny gloss to it and they actually gave me the bottle of spray to test for the next few months. Y’ALL….The Banana Smell this stuff has is AMAZING! I applied it to my windshield and half of a body panel when I got home and it started raining the next day. The hydrophobicity was good for a sealant on the glass. From what I have tested so far, It has about 4 Months of protection and is very slick. I would say it has a quick cure time and easy wipe off. I would compare this to CarPro Reload or Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wax. Once again a bargain coming in at $45 for a gallon. Which means its roughly $12 a bottle when you break it down. They have a few different interior cleaners and all purpose cleaners but would only recommend a few. All Clean is a good APC that can be diluted up to 30:1, Leather & Interior Cleaner, WOW Miracle Cleaner is one that I would like to try, it can be used in all interior including carpet and fabric seats. It can also be diluted 30:1 so its very cost effective.

The last two products would be Cherry Suds and the Laundry Detergent. Cherry suds is a very concentrated soap that has a high 320:1 dilution for foam cannons and bucket washes. I would recommend trying 1-2 oz at the most for a foam cannon and doing something like 10:1 for a 5 Gal jug for you like to pre dilute your soap. The Laundry Detergent is a very good option for your microfiber as well as those of you who have sensitive skin or do not want a scent. The concentration is so powerful that the most you would ever need is 2oz for the heavy washes. so that means that you can get 64 Loads out of the gallon, AT THE LEAST.

Overall, I would recommend trying out the Stinger Chemical line over at detail world if you are looking for something local and don’t want to keep ordering and paying a ridiculous amount of money for shipping and having to wait for your stuff to arrive. They stock Jescar and Rupes Polish, pads, and backing plates. Many accessories like brushes, bottles, triggers, gloves, applicators, and many more. Check them out next time you are in Slidell, LA!
